Manager/Supervisor
The Director of Public Relations is responsible for all earned communications efforts across Aerial Group’s portfolio of businesses. With a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive 360 communications strategies, the Director must also possess the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with the CEO, and translate her vision & goals into earned media.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Develop outreach plans and PR strategy to generate optimal press coverage
- Leads the release and promotion of all Aerial news, including company announcements, partnerships, business initiatives, product launches and more
- Manage CEO communications efforts including thought leadership, speeches, blog posts, external PR, and internal communications
- Pitch both Aerial Group and Britnie Turner for key awards and speaking events; maintain comprehensive annual database for awards & speaking opportunities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with reporters and respond to incoming media inquiries
- Proactive, daily outreach to press on various story angles in order to garner regular, favorable press coverage
- Creation and copyediting of all owned content (videos, photo, blogs, releases) to ensure cohesive company voice and narrative
- Create and maintain master company narrative/talking points for all Aerial businesses (speeches, talking points, Q&A) for all Aerial businesses
- Manage PR tools such as media database, photo libraries, and internal employee shared drives
- Monitor press coverage and use data & analytics tools for regular reporting
- Lead communications training for senior management if needed
- Manage PR firms as needed
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years relevant PR experience with heavy focus on external media relations and international coverage
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
- Deep roster of relationships with key media and strong portfolio of earned media work
- Superb writing and editing skills; strong sense of narrative and story-telling
- Creative thinker, with an ability to quickly comprehend a breadth of information and simplify the communication
- A collaborative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Can swiftly and productively work with changing priorities and juggle multiple projects at a time.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality
- Fluent/native and excellent command of English - second language a plus!
- Preferred: Personal interest and/or professional experience in the health/wellness, travel, and/or NGO and nonprofit sector.
